Road Construction Cost Index Report
The Roads & Transport Directorate’s NSW Local Road Construction Cost Forecasts 2012 – 2022 has been completed and is currently being printed.
This updated report includes:
- Indexes of the costs associated with undertaking road construction work in the local road sector in New South Wales.
- Seven different indexes covering all New South Wales roads, All Local Government road works, metropolitan and non-metropolitan road works, along with separate indexes for pavement work, drainage and bridge work.
- Well researched forecasts of construction costs for local government road and bridge construction in New South Wales.
- An estimate of the impact of the carbon tax, and the related changes to diesel fuel rebates, on road and bridge construction costs in New South Wales.
This is an essential tool for all asset managers in NSW and provides an independent assessment of the likely future costs involved in the management of infrastructure assets. A copy of the report will be provided to each member council in mid September.
